Extension privacy

Captured content goes directly to your chosen BigBrain endpoint, normally the app running on your computer. You choose that destination when pairing. Choose a trusted endpoint and use HTTPS for remote connections.

What you send

When you invoke Send to BigBrain, the extension sends page text, title, URL, available author and publication metadata, supported documents or transcripts, and your added notes. Captures can contain sensitive information.

AI providers you connect receive content needed for the features you use, including audio for voice features, under their own terms.

Pairing and permissions

Pairing sends a one-time code and browser type to the endpoint. The endpoint address, credential and display label stay in local extension storage; temporary state supports captures and notes.

Browser permissions support page capture, context menus, storage and endpoint access. Optional permissions enable additional document access. PDF retrieval can use the source site’s login cookies. Browser stores handle extension delivery and updates.

Disconnecting

Disconnect removes the local connection. Revoking the browser in BigBrain invalidates its credential. These actions stop that connection; they do not remove content already sent to the endpoint or connected providers.
